Online, August 6, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Please join us for a wonderful new event, the 1st Annual Brain Aneurysm Awareness 5K, on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Gray's Lake Park on Fleur Drive in Des Moines, IA.

Family and friends were inspired to raise greater awareness of brain aneurysms in order to save and improve lives after a local mom suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2012 while training to compete in her first triathlon. Now—just three years after the rupture—this survivor is training yet again, and she is serving as an inspiration and hero to those who know and love her.

Registration for the 1st Annual Brain Aneurysm Awareness 5K starts at 8:00am on the overlook terrace in the SW corner of Gray's Lake Park. The 5K kicks of right at 9:30am.

The fees to register are as follows:
Adults: $25 before September 6th and $30 after September 6th
Youth: $10 for all children 12 and under

All who register by September 6, 2015 will receive a complimentary t-shirt (standard adult and youth sizes available).
